The process to come up with the 100 for this first exhibition was an impossible, bordering on cruel task. Where do you even start trying to curate 300 guitars down to 100 when every single one of them is an integral part of the Scale story?

From the very beginning, I always knew that my “guitar idea” was going to take some time.

When I started shooting Scale in 2014, the intent was always to have an exhibition, along with an accompanying book. As momentum built, I never thought too much about the exhibition, I was always focused on getting the next guitar photographed. That’s how Scale was created, one guitar at a time.
