Every artist holds a unique, intimate relationship with their instrument. A relationship that ultimately shapes their guitar into a one of a kind piece of art.

Scale was created to reveal the beauty of each instrument while exploring the entwined stories and intimate relationship each artist holds with their instrument. The true to scale images bring the guitar to the forefront allowing the viewer to study the dents, cracks, rust and wear that evolves its character year after year.

For 12 years award-winning photographer Kane Hibberd has travelled the world seeking out these guitars – shooting on stage, in green rooms, hotel rooms, as well as being invited into the artists creative spaces and homes across the globe – to photograph their precious instrument in true to life detail.
