The doors have closed on Scale’s debut exhibition in London. We welcomed thousands of visitors from all walks of life, from 9 months to 90 years of age. Thank you to all the musicians, music lovers and curious minded people, I loved hearing how the exhibition resonated with each of you whether it was through enthusiastic conversations on the exhibition floor or the kind words on our “Feedback, it’s not just for guitarist’s” forms – specifically on that, thank you for all the suggestions regarding guitars that I should shoot next – watch this space!

Some conversations that continue to resonate with me – an inspired mother who, after reading Slade’s Dave Hill story about his dad gifting him a guitar, decided to buy their son a new drumkit as they thought they were ready to take it to another level. Similarly, a father inspired to finally learn guitar after walking around the exhibition with their guitar playing son.  A teenager told me that they weren’t going to buy a relic’d guitar but instead, buy a new one, play it every day until it looked like the well-worn instruments in the exhibition, because then it’s earnt and it’s all them in the instrument.

I heard many conversations between generations, learning about music from each other. I also saw many people with a guitar playing partner coming a little closer to understand their obsession.  There were tales of memorable nights out that were brought to life after seeing THE guitar that was played at so many iconic gigs; tingles, romance and nostalgia as viewing the images & hearing their stories was described as “seeing the heart & hearing the soul of each artist”.

So, thank you once again for sharing the Scale experience with me, I can’t wait to do it all again soon.
